I remember them from the rooftops of my grandfathers home in Bangalore, scooping up the grain he threw as he called out to them gently. When I moved to Toronto, there they were again. Colourful necks, heads bobbing in a groove, walking along my side. Almost as if to remind me of home, in streets I didn't recognize.
